This unit is for CISCO Telephones only.

Note: Cisco telephones are not all wired the same so we have found that some Cisco phones take this mute splitter and some take the standard mute splitter.  We do know that the following phones use the standard splitter not this one: CP6945, CP7911, CP7912, CP7940, CP7960, CP7962, CP7975.

The non muted 302-900 will work for any Cisco phone it is just the muted unit that may or may not work.

Yes this is designed to plug into the telephone and have two handsets plugged in.  This will work even on digital sets as the signal going to the handset is analog.

The plug on the cable is 4P4C, some call it RJ9 or RJ22.

This unit is specifically designed for trainers who want their conversation always muted.  This splitter has one port muted and the other for 2-way conversation.  This allows the trainer to talk freely to the salesperson without being heard by the remote party.
